Kandid-Interview
 1.Tu as vécu à Manchester quelques années. Qu’es-tu donc parti chercher en Angleterre que tu ne trouvais pas en France ?
Je suis parti en Angleterre après avoir passé ma licence de musicologie, en 99... Je ne savais pas trop quoi faire de ma vie à ce moment-là, et il valait mieux pour moi que je sache vite sinon j'étais bon pour le service militaire! Je suis donc parti un peu à l'aventure, pour chercher une école de "musiques-actuelles" en Grande-Bretagne... (En France, ce genre d'école existait, mais c'était très cher!) Je suis finalement resté 4 ans à Manchester... 2 années à étudier, et 2 autres à commencer de monter mon projet "Kandid". 2. Chantais-tu en français là-bas ? On dit toujours que les anglais ne nous aiment pas trop. Comment étais-tu accueilli ? Au début je chantais essentiellement en Anglais... Ma culture musicale était à 90 pour cent anglo-saxonne. Mais progressivement je me suis intéressé à ce qui se passait en France musicalement. C'était sans doute dû en partie au mal du pays, à la sensation d'être un peu exilé... Donc j'ai commencé petit à petit à écrire en Français, et je me suis rendu compte que j'aimais ça! Cultiver ma différence... Au début de ma 3e année là-bas, j'ai commencé à faire des concerts dans les pubs, d'abord en solo, puis en groupe. Je chantais de plus en plus en Français, et c'était vraiment intéressant de voir la réaction des gens... Contre toute attente, l'accueil était vraiment très chaleureux! Les Anglais trouvent la langue française très agréable, exotique... voire sexy! 3.Raconte-nous ta rencontre avec Denis Clavaizolle. Est-ce lui qui t’a repéré ? La rencontre avec Denis s'est faite assez naturellement; je connaissais son travail avec Jean-Louis Murat (dont je suis toujours un grand fan!) Je savais qu'il tenait le studio Sophiane à Cournon d'Auvergne, alors forcément j'ai été un peu influencé dans le choix du studio! Ensuite, on décidé de travailler ensemble sur ce 1er album... 
4.L’aventure commence à porter ses fruits pour toi. Tu fais des premières parties intéressantes et donc de belles rencontres. Comment le vis-tu ? J'ai effectivement fait de belles rencontres, j'ai eu beaucoup de chance, mais la route est encore très longue... Et vivre de ce métier devient de plus en plus compliqué! Le statut d'intermittent est sans cesse remis en cause, et le spectacle vivant d'une façon générale est réellement menacé par la politique actuelle qui ne soutient que les salles institutionnalisées (et met des bâtons dans les roues des autres)... J'ai un peu de mal à être optimiste.
5. Quels artistes aimerais-tu rencontrer? Il y en a beaucoup que j'aimerais rencontrer... En ce moment j'aurais très envie de rencontrer Yael Naim! (Je suis amoureux je crois... 6.Le boeuf idéal pour toi, il se ferait avec qui ? Mathieu Boogaerts! 7.Pourquoi ce pseudo ? Est-ce pour faire écho à cette part d’enfance et d’innocence que tu sembles vouloir préserver ? N’est-ce pas difficile dans le monde d’aujourd’hui d’ailleurs, de garder son âme d’enfant ? "Candid" en anglais ça veut dire "franc, sincère, qui ne cache rien..."; j'aime beaucoup cette définition... Je pense que ça colle assez bien avec ce que j'essaie de faire passer à travers mes chansons, et sur scène notamment. Ca fait en effet aussi écho à cette part d'enfance en nous, qu'il me semble essentiel de préserver... 8.Vas-tu chanter plus de morceaux en anglais sur ton prochain album ? Je ne pense pas... Après avoir longtemps été partagé entre les deux, j'ai opté pour la langue française. Il se peut qu'il y en ait une (j'en ai écrit une cet été, mais ce sera le maximum. Le Français me permet d'exprimer davantage ce que je ressens... 9. Et il est prévu pour quand d’ailleurs ce nouvel album ? Si tout va bien, il sortira fin 2008. 10. Es-tu satisfait de tes « premiers pas » dans le monde de la musique ? Je suis un éternel insatisfait! Mais c'est ce qui me fait avancer... ******
