No Fixed Abode - ITW
-« Clearwater » est-il votre tout premier album ou avez-vous déjà enregistré autre chose auparavant ? Clearwater est notre premier véritable album, nous avions enregistré un album acoustique il y a quelques années, mais nous n’en sommes pas satisfaits. Nous préférons le son plus riche d’un groupe, ce qui nous permet de mettre beaucoup plus d’émotions dans nos chansons. C’est un peu comme un peintre qui serait content de ses tableaux en noir et blanc (la musique acoustique) mais qui découvrirait qu’il s’exprime beaucoup mieux avec une large palette de couleurs (la musique en groupe). -L’avez-vous réalisé par vos propres moyens ? Avez-vous un contrat avec un Label ? Nous l’avons complètement autofinancé, nous ne sommes soutenus par aucune maison de disque, aucun Label. Nous nous sommes endettés pour faire cet album, mais comme nous y croyons vraiment, nous faisons les choses à fond, nous nous devons de montrer notre plein engagement musical et financier. Entendez bien que si un Label désirait nous soutenir, nous serions intéressés, car nous avons une série de nouvelles chansons en attente d’être enregistrées en studio. Notre problème actuel, c’est le manque d’argent pour le faire ! -Quand et comment avez-vous formé ce groupe ? Eh bien, à dire vrai, nous ne sommes pas vraiment un groupe ! No Fixed Abode, c’est Una Walsh et Tony Dean. Le groupe que vous pouvez entendre sur « Clearwater » est une bande de copains et quelques musiciens que nous avons payés en argent ou en boissons. On est content d’entendre les gens dire que le groupe est bon, et nous adorerions former un vrai groupe au final, mais ici, en Angleterre, on ne trouve pas assez de concerts. Nous n’avons pas encore essayé d’explorer l’Europe pour voir s’il y a plus de possibilités. Una chante pratiquement depuis toujours, elle a fait ses débuts dans la chorale de l’église en Irlande lorsqu’elle était enfant. Ensuite, elle a étudié l’opéra, puis elle a été la chanteuse d’un groupe irlandais du nom de Bunratty Singers. Il s’agissait essentiellement de musique traditionnelle irlandaise. Tony s’est toujours intéressé à la musique et à commencé par jouer de la trompette à l’âge de 11 ans. Ensuite, il a joué dans une fanfare, puis il s’est mis à la guitare. Tony a des goûts musicaux très éclectiques : du Rock Progressif de Deep Purple à Kate Bush, en passant par la musique classique. Una et Tony se sont rencontrés alors que Tony faisait du tourisme en Irlande, devenant du même coup partenaires musicaux et un véritable couple. -Una, t’a-t-on déjà dit que ta voix ressemblait à celle de Loreena McKennitt ? Aimes-tu cette artiste ? Oui, j’aime Loreena McKennitt, et on m’a déjà fait cette remarque. Les gens me disent souvent que ma voix leur fait penser à une autre artiste, Sandy Denny ou Joni Mitchell. Personnellement, je préfère penser que j’ai une voix bien à moi ! -Pouvez-vous nous expliquer comment une chanson country peut parler de Kebab ? Je ne suis pas certaine de bien comprendre la question mais « Kebab crazed nutter » parle des sorties en Angleterre, des comportements alcooliques des gens dans les banlieues et dans les villes, particulièrement les week-ends. C’est peut-être spécifique à l’Angleterre, mais les week-ends, les gens d’une trentaine d’années n’osent plus sortir dans les rues à cause du comportement des jeunes qui boivent trop. Il y a beaucoup de vente ambulante de nourriture, les jeunes s’y servent et ça dégénère, il y a de nombreuses bagarres autour de ses points de vente de kebab. « kebab crazed nutter » est une chanson de protestation actuelle. -Vous avez l’air de deux voyageurs qui s’inspireraient de toutes les musiques du monde, est-ce le cas ? Eh bien, comme nous l’avons dit tout à l’heure, nous avons une large palette de goûts musicaux. Una adore la country alors que Tony a des influences plus Rock. Le point positif, bien que ça ne nous aide pas à trouver un label, c’est que si vous écoutez toutes les chansons de l’album, vous entendrez un tas de styles différents, passant du jazz à la musique folk, entre autres ! -Ne seriez-vous pas deux magiciens évadés d’une légende irlandaise ? J’imagine que la culture celtique vous inspire beaucoup, n’est-ce pas ? J’aimerais bien, en effet, et il est vrai que la musique celtique a une grande influence sur nos chansons. J’imagine que comme Una est irlandaise, ça s’entend dans sa voix et les textes. Una vit en Angleterre depuis maintenant 10 ans, et pourtant, il lui arrive encore d’avoir le mal du pays, ça s’entend à l’écoute de la chanson « Going Home » . -Combien de concerts par an faîtes-vous à ce jour ? Eh bien, aux alentours de 80 à 100 concerts, mais la plupart du temps, nous jouons dans des bars, des clubs ou des festivals de musique folk. Nous avons voyagé dans toute l’Angleterre, comme nous sommes désormais musiciens à temps plein depuis 3 ans, alors, nous essayons de gagner notre vie en jouant. Nous aimerions beaucoup voyager et jouer à travers l’Europe, qui sait, si quelqu’un lit ceci, un programmateur va peut-être nous contacter. -Pensez-vous que la musique d’aujourd’hui est vide et moins originale qu’avant ? Nous pensons que la musique, globalement, a perdu de sa valeur. Récemment, un article publié en Angleterre, affirmait que la musique n’était plus quelque chose d’essentiel. Nous pensons que c’est en train de devenir vrai, surtout parce que les maisons de disques ne s’intéressent plus à de vrais passionnés de musique. Les patrons sont de véritables comptables ! Ce qui sauvera la musique, c’est internet. La solution serait une charte de qualité, il y a beaucoup de mauvaise musique sur la toile, et la solution serait peut-être de filtrer un peu tout ça. Nous ne sommes pas sûres que ça fonctionnerait, mais peut-être que quelqu’un a une meilleure idée. En attendant, nous pensons que l’industrie musicale est en train d’étouffer, il en sera ainsi tant que nous ne reviendrons pas à une musique porteuse de messages et d’émotions qui touchent le cœur des gens. -La musique folk reste très appréciée, comment expliquez-vous cela ? A notre avis, chaque pays a sa propre folk musique, donc même quand il y a la barrière de la langue, il y a quelque chose de plus organique que fait vibrer les gens. Nous ne nous considérons pas vraiment comme de purs artistes de folk, car ici en Angleterre ou en Irlande, cela signifierait qu’on reprenne de vieilles chansons traditionnelles en les réarrangeant. Ce que nous faisons est différent puisque nous écrivons nos chansons, nous sommes donc plus des auteurs compositeurs. -Quels sont vos projets pour cette année et après ? Nous travaillons à faire diffuser notre album « Clearwater » sur les radios, notamment sur notre radio locale Radio 2. Si nous y parvenons, ça va nous aider à faire plus de concerts et à terme, à former notre groupe. Nous adorons être sur scène…On devrait toujours écouter la musique en live. Il y a beaucoup de choses que nous aimerions faire, mais ce dont nous avons le plus besoin, c’est que les gens écoutent notre album, en parlent à leurs amis, fassent passer le mot. I owned and used this flour mill machinery daily for many years (12 years, I think) - that is 3 of them. The grinding worked great - I have no qualms with that flour milling machine. But it is not the most convenient, nor the sturdiest I've used. flour mill machine
It is noisier than the newer used grain roller mill, and produces more flour dust in the room (though it isn't bad - I've seen far noisier and "dustier" ones). The small hopper is a bit inconvenient, as is removing the mill used Flour Mill Machinehead to get to the flour in the flour pan, as is the small hole the grain feeds through (you have to pretty much handfeed corn and larger beans to keep them flowing).
The biggestused Wheat Flour Mill problem we had was the clips that hold the head to the pan would crack, and on one of our used laboratory mill the underside of the head developed a pretty big crack. This mills were still usable, but you couldn't get as good of a seal used Grain Flour Mill (to keep down that flour dust).
